Cobblestone Stitch Crochet Tutorial – Multicolour

This is a fun version of the Cobblestone stitch using multiple colours.  In this Cobblestone Stitch Crochet Tutorial we use three colours and give this stitch a whole new look.

You will only ever be using one colour per row, and the stitch pattern itself only uses a two stitch and two row repeat. Since we are using three colours, we will be turning it into a 6 row repeat on our stitch chart. No worries though, it is just the same two rows repeated using three different colours, one row at a time.

Ready to give it a try? Then gather your supplies and lets get creating.

Colourful and Easy.

This Cobblestone Stitch Crochet stitch pattern is such a fun way to work colours into your projects.  It only uses one colour per row, so you never have to worry about carrying more than one colour across a row at a time.  The stitch pattern itself is simple and you always will have the colour you need ready and waiting, so no need to worry about alot of loose ends to sew in at the end.

The Wrong Side of this pattern swatch has a smooth feel, and a delicate pattern design in a nice subtle stripe. Useful for garments when you want a smooth feel for the inside.

Carrying Yarn Up Edges of Work

One of the things that makes this stitch so appealing is that you will are only working with one colour at a time.  When you pick up the next colour always pick it up from the same direction.  This way the yarn will wrap neatly up the edge of your swatch, creating a tidy edge along both sides.

Play around with colour combinations and colour order. You can try a group of colours that are in the same family, or you can try colours that contrast with each other. The look will also change based on how you place the colours next to each other. There are so many ideas to try with this simple stitch pattern.
